Antigone in Husby
In the trilogy Antigone in Husby all the performances focus on integration.
Inspired by Sofokles drama Antigone RATS Teater brings the visitor into another time while at the same time the performances reflect problems and opportunities of today. The visitors themselves can take part in the performances, which all meet their audiences in everyday places such as in the subway, in the square or in the assembly local.
The three performances included in Antigone in Husby are:
Haimon is an intractive drama created to be experienced via a smartphone in the subway. The drama is both about the love between a young couple and about a growing distance between center and periphery. The performance also reflects on the riots in Husby 2013. You can see the performance here.
Antigone’s diary is a GPS-triggered mobile drama where you with the help of a found diary follow Antigone during the days before her dissappearance. The audience traces her footsteps, walking around in Husby using a map in their mobile phones. The scenes will not be be played until the visitor has moved to the right position on the map.
In my street
In my street is a play that takes off during the five nights in the spring of 2013 when the Husby riots went on. Focus is on a mother’s longing and worry over her daughter. The audience is brought to a foreign land and another time. The thoughts and opinions that the audience shares and has shared during the other performances of the trilogy become part of the stage design, accompanied by the music of Edward Grieg.
