Lise & Otto
One drama – two scenes.
Lise & Otto is a newly written drama of Loviisa Milles of Lise Meitner and Otto Hahn, two scientists who in 1938 managed to interpret the fission process, a discovery that changed our era.
Lise and Otto researched together in Berlin but World War II forced Lise, who was Jewish, to escape to Sweden. Lise’s and Otto’s research continued at a distance and through letters. 1944, Otto alone won the Nobel Prize for their joint discoveries.
The drama is about research, passion and separation. And the energy that occurs when discoveries are made. Lise & Otto is a technically advanced performance that takes place in two locations simultaneously. Half the audience meets Lise and the other half meets Otto, while they face each other virtually.
